Charity Headquarters for New Generation, Burundi

New Generation is a non-profit organisation focused on training and equipping young people to become the future leaders of Burundi. Struggling to find a place to live after the death of his father in the country’s brutal civil way, the organisation’s founder, Nahimana Dieudonné, began to look after other street children he met on the streets of the capital city, Bujumbura. His endeavours grew and grew until the charity has now worked with over ten thousand young people, giving them a home, an education and a future. Many of the young people who came to New Generation have since go on to occupy positions of influence within Burundi.

Giraffe Engineering is proud to be working with Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios and Max Fordham to help deliver this new headquarters building to help the charity grow and do even more to help the young people of Burundi. We have worked alongside the design team to create a simple but effective building which will meet the needs of its occupants, perform well in the local environment and importantly will be affordable for the charity to build and maintain.
